Resource Organisation

Andhra Pradesh

At the invitation of the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh, WOTR has expanded its activities to the state, and is presently implementing 17 watershed projects under the Andhra Pradesh Rural Livelihoods Program (APRLP) 

WOTR also performs the role of Resource Organisation for other organisations under the APRLP in the Mahabubnagar District of Andhra Pradesh.

WOTR in its role as Resource Organisation is :

  • Cater the capacity development support to the Project Implementation Agencies (PIA) and village groups in technical and social mobilization aspects pertaining to integrated watershed management.

  • Train PIAs for social mobilization processes, women's participation and building village institutions.

  • Train user groups, watershed committees for social capital mobilization and develop their capacities for management of their watershed in a sustainable manner. 

  • Support PIAs, Village Watershed Committees (VWCs) and Van Saurakshan Samiti for process monitoring and impact monitoring.

Madhya Pradesh

In May 2006, WOTR launched it's initiative in south-east Madhya Pradesh. The Regional Resource Center based at Jabalpur assists 4 NGOs working in 3 surrounding districts. These NGOs assist 8 villages undertake watershed development covering an area of 5,057 ha involving 4,292 people..
