In order to create an awareness among school children regarding the importance of environment conservation, health and hygiene a focused program in this regard was undertaken under the Community Action for Poverty Alleviation (CAPA) project. 

Under this project 103 toilets and drinking water systems were constructed and 66 exposure visits to completed watershed projects were conducted.  Besides this, an intensive school environment and sanitation program was conducted in 61 Zilla Parishad schools of 5 talukas of Ahmednagar.  4 school melawas were also organized regarding health, sanitation and the environment in which around 5000 children participated.  Essay writing and drawing competitions were also organized in 12 villages in which 290 children took part.
