The Participatory Operational Pedagogy (POP) has been developed by WOTR as a systematic, step-by-step approach to building up the capacities of the NGOs and VSHGs to undertake watershed development.
POP provides the common steps through which they need to proceed to develop their organization capabilities as well as their watersheds. Depending upon the region specific physical situations and issues, the order of the steps can be changed. Small changes and modifications can be introduced within the broad framework. The common key elements, however, remain more or less the same.
The
development of POP is recognized as a significant tool for
upscaling and managing the program. It provided the
framework as well as the parameter to monitor the progress of
the process of organizational, institutional and watershed
development.
