Action Research & Studies
Research at WOTR is interdisciplinary.
WOTR has a strong history of Action Research that contributes to situation analysis, project planning and impact assessment. People, their perceptions, and experiences have always been central to our researches.
In the Climate Change context WOTR moves several steps further where the researcher is not a disinterested, unbiased observer, but a keenly interested party who is directly experiencing the consequences and impacts of change. Essentially it has meant that members of local communities become researchers observing, measuring, and assessing for themselves not only problems but also the improvements that a project brings about.
Analytically it has meant that WOTR’s researches go beyond co-relations and correlations to causality. In other words, researches are not only statistical but are based on causal relationships.
