Asst. Researcher/Researcher

Scope of responsibility:

  • Familiar with qualitative and quantitative data collection methods and has field experience using them.
  • Should be fluent in Marathi and preferably in English language.
  • Provide assistance in research activities such as field supervision, interview translations etc.

Education Qualification & Experience: Freshers or candidates with 1-3 years of experience and having Social Science background like Sociology /Anthropology /MSW /Agriculture / Irrigation or water Management can apply. Candidate must be willing for extensive fieldwork in rural areas.

Fund Raising

Scope of responsibility:
• Develop, plan, and implement a Fundraising Strategy
• Conduct market research
• Define target groups, including corporates, private households, schools etc.
• Define direct marketing measures
• Create a fundraising unit by establishing essential functions
• Implement a “management by objectives” system to sustainably fund the trust
• Manage various fundraising campaigns
• Organize sensitisation and awareness programs for prospective donors
• Introduce the Trust to prospective institutional and non-institutional donors
• Nurture and maintain donor relations through appropriate programs
• Raising substantial funds to meet the trust’s targets

Skillsets required:
• Analytic and strategic thinker with the ability to put theory into practice
• Excellent communication skills
• Outstanding English language knowledge
• Self-motivated
• Passion to work in the social sector

Educational Qualifications: Masters in Marketing and Communications or MBA from a reputed university with 2 to 5 years in the fundraising and marketing field.  Candidates with fund-raising experience will be given preference.

 

Business Development

Responsible for developing strategic and action plans at the executive level of organization to formulate new business ventures and finding and expanding current business into new local, regional, national or international markets.

Scope of responsibility

• Locate and/or propose potential business deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring opportunities.
• Present to and consult with mid and senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new Approaches, products, services and distribution channels.
• Initiate and develop new relationships with potential clients and strategic partners.
• Initiate the proposal development process in consultation with other team members and maintain the time-lines for the proposal preparation.
• Develop draft proposals based on team meetings and discussions.
• Enhance organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; explore opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
• Maintain the Business Development databases
• Support marketing activities, including trade/ scientific shows, mailings, etc.
• Other tasks as assigned.

 

Sr. Researchers

Responsible for leading research projects in the organization on various subjects /issues

Scope of responsibility

• Write proposals for research grants
• Design, develop and ensure effective implementation of research projects that are assigned.
• Define frameworks and parameters of researches, identify team to conduct, control quality of methodologies, build-in checks of ethics in data and information collation and vet final reports
• Mentor and foster growth of project teams and providing technical inputs
• Develop process documentation guidelines.
• Build capacity of project teams on information and data collection for process documents.
• Support development of new documents and updating of the existing ones
• Set systems to ensure quality and accuracy in documentation
• Prepare dissemination plan for the documents produced.
• Proactively engage in learning communities both within and outside organization and share information on good practices that can be useful to the various ongoing programs.
• Support formulation of new grants proposal. Build linkages with government, peer organizations and technical institutions.
• Participate in strategic forums and other professional interactions for mutual learning as well as strengthening of WOTR’s brand
• Other tasks as assigned.

 

Rural Livelihoods

Scope of responsibility:

• Program design and management: provide strategic direction to the development of WOTRs livelihood division, work on analyzing the current local village economy and existing current livelihood options.
• Identify potential economic interventions to improve economic scenario and household livelihoods within the village cluster.
• Take lead in acquiring and providing sufficient technical inputs into the livelihoods component through design and piloting of livelihood project and strategies.
• Resource mobilization: coordinate and consult with the Regional Managers and Cluster Managers in mobilizing resources for the livelihoods component
• Create project proposals in consultation with the Executive Director and other Admin Heads for piloting of livelihoods projects aiming to strengthen and diversify the livelihoods of different sections of the society.
• Monitoring and evaluation: develop and implement a monitoring and evaluation plan that can be used to measure progress and impact of the ongoing livelihood projects over time.
• Capacity building: provide technical support, training to field staff, internal and external stakeholders/partners.
• Other responsibilities may include reporting, and managing and monitoring the livelihoods budget.
• Knowledge Products: develop livelihoods tool kits that can be used by different stakeholders wanting to develop and implement programs for women’s socio-economic and livelihoods development

Educational Qualifications: Advanced degree (preferred not mandatory) in social development, entrepreneurship development, management or related field desired with minimum 2 – 5 years of demonstrated experience related to livelihood development.

 

 

Rural Marketing

Scope of responsibilities:

• Study the produce of the project area
• Study the local markets and dynamics of the Rural Products in the Market.
• Network with various agencies and create linkage for the sales of Agri. produce.
• Train and counsel farmers & villagers in importance and processes of value addition to different rural products.
• Attract customers and review the existing products to develop new products
• Organize exhibitions, Buyers and Sellers meet
• Create a bridge between the rural products and Urban Markets.

Educational Qualifications: Should be M.Sc. (Agri) or B.Sc (Agri) with MBA (ABM)
2-5 years experience in Marketing of Agricultural/Rual produce will be preferred.

 

Communication & Media Outreach

• Writing – articles, stories, documentation, web and publicity content
• Editing papers, publications, manuals, case-studies, translating content from and to local languages
• Design & production of print publications
• Media outreach – connecting with media, writing for media, and implementing media strategies
• Dissemination & Public Relations – connecting to various networks, ensuring dissemination of productions, and publicity material
• Web Outreach – content creation and updates for websites, databases etc.

Skillsets required:
• Excellent writing skills
• Excellent knowledge of English
• Good knowledge of Marathi/Hindi
• Strong Development perspective. Understanding of Climate Change will be of an added value.
• Good backing of technical skills – various production software, web software an added advantage

Prior experience in writing and/or print media production essential.
